1.  You will not marry during the term of your contract.  (Give me a break!  Did this go for the men as well? I think not!)

2.  You are not to keep company with men.  (What about the men in the home you live in.  They always lived with members of the community.  How am I supposed to meet a nice guy to marry?)

3.  You must be home between the hours of 8PM and 6AM unless attending a school function.  (I have no problem with this one.  I am usually asleep by 9PM.  Exhaustion has it's place in teaching.)

4.  You may not loiter downtown in ice cream stores.  (How about underware stores? The theater?  The Strip Joint?)

5.  You may not travel beyond the city limits unless you have the permission of the Chairman of the Board.  (Is this a guy thing?  I don't get it.  Can't they even visit their families?

6.  You may not ride in a carriage or automobile with any man unless he is your father or brother.  (Not a problem.  I will drive my own carriage or automobile, Thank you very much.)

7.  You may not smoke cigarettes.  (What about reefers?  Are those OK?  What about Cloves?  How about straws, I tried to smoke them when I was a kid.  Burned my lungs too.)

8.  You may not dress in bright colors.  (Oops!  I would have to buy a new wardrobe and loiter in the stores in town.)

9.  You may under no circumstances dye your hair.  (I quit that when I turned 50 anyway.  By the way, how would they know?)

10.  You must wear at least two petticoats.  (OK, WHOSE CHECKING ON THIS ONE???)

11.  Your dresses must not be any shorter than two inches above the ankle.  (I don't have a problem with that, I wear mostly pants anyway.)

12.  To keep the school room neat and clean, you must: a) sweep the floor at least once daily  b) Scrub the floor at least once a week with hot soapy water  c) Clean the blackbpards at least once a day  d)  Start the fire at 7 AM so the room will be warm by 8AM  (Isn't this why we have student jobs?  I think so.  As for the fire?  I would be happy to light the school on fire at 7AM if these were the rules of my school.  I would also light the boards houses on fire and warm their little butts as well.)

Since these say RULES FOR TEACHERS, do the men teachers have to comphy too?  I would love to see them in 2 petticoats.
