Someone who is monkey poop is a person who nit-picks. They only want to focus on the details. They are not really interested in the big picture. That would be the gorilla poop people.
One of the teachers on my team is a monkey pooper and the rest of us are gorilla poop. I gather the information and make copies of activities and pass them out to the others. They are to take the information and create their own style of lessons for their teaching style and students learning styles. However, the monkey pooper said I was a dictator and just threw information at them and expected them to know how to teach it. She thinks I should be creating detailed lesson plans for them and then they can just follow them.
I don't work that way. For one thing, I can't be a dictator if I am gorilla poop. I don't tell them how or in what manner to teach. I don't have time to nit-pic lessons for another teacher. They might not be appropriate for their class. I just make sure they have the information and activities they might need to cover the concepts necessary.
I am wondering how she can say I am a demanding dictator and telling them exacty what to teach one second and then that I don't give them enough information the next. I have to be one or the other. I am gorilla poop. I don't expect my fellow team members to be like me or teach like me or plan like me, or anything like me. I expect them to create their own environment for their students. I don't know their students or what their needs are.
I know my teaching style and I adjust accordingly for the students needs. I create my own lessons from the materials and activities that we use. I am not a textbook teacher. This poor monkey poop is going to have to learn to create her own lessons or she will be one sorry teacher.
