I don't mind observations. I have been teaching for 21 years. I am used to being observed and evaluated. I have even done a few in my time. But, tomorrow, the new Curriculum Director is going to come into my classroom to make sure that I am doing everything the way the district wants me to. Cookie Cutter style. I spent 2 hours after school putting up all the paraphanailia that they require. I won't take it down, but I may not keep it up after they go. It takes too much time. It is supposed to be changed every day. Holy cow! Who has time to do all that?
I have duty before school, duty after school, and meetings coming out my ears. When exactly am I supposed to be able to do all these wall thingies? I haven't even had time to unpack all my stuff from the move into the new school this summer. I am still spending all my planning time with my team trying to get them through everything. I can't believe what they don't know. I am going to suggest strongly that they take some tech classes that the district offers. I know one of them won't. He leaves at 3:15 every single day come heck or high water. He is done. I don't know how they do it.
