I have a challenge this year. I have 4 very smart boys who don't do any work. I have tried rewards when they do something but it only worked the first time and then they don't care. I don't have the money to make the rewards "worthwhile" and besides I don't feel that is a good idea in education. Also, the parents should be doing that if they want to. They just sit there and do nothing. I would be bored out of my head if I just sat there all day doing nothing.
I have got to come up with a way to actively engage them in the classroom learning. I tried mini whiteboards today and they just drew on them instead of doing the math requested. They can't sit in a group table because they disrupt everyone around them.
If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.
