We started a holiday tradition several years ago here at school to get parents to help celebrate this wonderful time of year. It is really very generic for the most part but it is loads of fun and a real blast. I was absent yesterday when it was decided that 4th and 5th would do a Holiday concert before the Festival. This morning, a former fellow Christmas planner came up to me and warned me that MP was on the war path and didn't want to do it.
Sure enough, at our lesson planning session (She says she can plan her own lessons!) she came in and loomed over us to TELL us that things should be changed and we should not participate in the event. Is she crazy? I love this kind of stuff.
I said those words a little loud and she actually patronized me and asked that I lower my volume. Then, I almost exploded. I want to laugh so hard I finally just said, "Leave my room." She did. I laughed and laughed. Is she really that crazy? I was one of the originators of this festival and she is a brand new teacher that hasn't even experienced it yet. She didn't even come to the fall festival and it was awesome.
MP feels that since we will teach all day, and then set up and get ready for the concert that we shouldn't have to stay for the festival afterwards. She wanted to know WHO decided that we were going to do crafts. She knew of course that I did. I am a dictator and I decide everything!

Who has been here for 21 years dedicating her life to these kids and this district?
Who helped develop the idea and make it happen the first time?
Who has been on the planning of it since the beginning of school this year?
Who has more power and is willing to go the distance with it if necessary?
Who does she think she is? She is a new teacher who doesn't want to participate in something that she didn't plan. I have her number now. If it wasn't her idea, it is a bad idea. I can't wait until the end of the year and she is gone. I HAS SPOKEN!!!
