Let's face it.  I know I am a digital illegal alien.  However, I am trying my best to learn more and keep as up to date as I possibly can.  We had a great discussion last night in my late meeting and one of the teachers said she resented being called a digital immigrant.  She knows as much or more about computers and how to use them then children.  The difference is, she had to LEARN how to do it.  It is naturally there  for the kids today.

Can a digital immigrant become a digital native?  I would think so.  We have naturalized citizens, why can't there be naturalized digital natives?

It is a competitive world out there.  If we don't keep up with the technology in our schools, we will be holding the students back from jobs that could be crucial to our world and economy.  They will have to learn it somewhere. Why can't the schools be loaded up technology-wise by companies so we can keep up with the Joneses?  They certainly don't give us any money for it through taxes.
