Mysterious Teaching

Insights behind the perils of being a teacher

Holidays interrupt education...Thank God!

Well, the next two weeks are going to be interrupted by numerous activities.  4th grade has program practice in the afternoon.  DIBLES testing is being done this week so there are no specials.  All special teachers help with the DIBLES testing.  There is a bus evacuation drill, a fire drill, a lock-down drill,  More program practice, the mid-year Math evaluation for all grades, and the list goes on...

We had to cancel Reading interveniton because of the DIBLE testing this week.  I can't imagine doing it next week with the kids wild for the vacation.  So, I am getting out the old, old Christmas activities that I used to do years ago.  I am letting the kids decorate the door too.  We have our Christmas Festival next week and I need my room decorated for it.

Why don't we just cancel these last two weeks of school.  Nothing educational is happening in a big way.  Too many interruptions.
