Confessions from the Couch brought up an interesting concept of smelly kids.  I once had a student in 7th grade who peed her bed at night.  She did not wash or change her underware.  The smell was so overpowering that I almost threw up.  It actually took me a while to figure out who the culprit was because I couldn't get close enough to check.    When it happened again, I sent her to the nurse and had the nurse shower and wash her.  She even had poop on her that was dried out.  The girl decided she liked taking a shower during class time and started asking every day if she could.  We called Mom and this time the nurse gave her what for.  Mom too because she sent her daughter to school that way.  Mom said she would tell her to bathe and she was in the bathroom for a while but she faked the bathing.  Well, Mom, how about the sniff test?  If the kids have to sit there and smell her the least Mom could do is sniff the girl before she walks out the door.  It finally stopped but then, they moved away because the younger children were getting into bullying trouble at school and Mom wanted a fresh start.
