Mysterious Teaching

Insights behind the perils of being a teacher

Lock-down (drill) shot down!

My very special little boy was a mess during our lock down drill today.  He shouted at students that he hated them, he shouted at me, he stuck his tongue out at kids and if they returned the favor, he shouted at them.  He went on and on and if it had been real, we would have probably been dead.

I honestly think I would rather shove him out into the hallways and leave him on his own than endanger the lives of the entire class. They did NOT deserve the treatment he gave them.  He would not be quiet and just sit during the drill.  I was ready to scream myself.

I am turning him over to the office to figure out what to do with him in a drill.  He cannot be allowed to be in the classroom like that.

For the safety of the rest of the students, something needs to be done.  Hopefully, the administrators can come up with a good solution.  That's a tough situation!
