Mysterious Teaching

Insights behind the perils of being a teacher

Uh Oh! We're in trouble now...

My granddaughter comes bouncing up to her mom and shoves onto her lap.

"Hey, Mama! You wanna see my sixteen face?"

"Your what face?"

"My sixteen face!"

"Um, okay."

Suddenly her bright little face goes completely blank and her mouth slackens, and slowly, inexorably, her eyeballs roll a full one hundred and eighty degrees in their sockets. As quickly as it came, the horror vanishes and is replaced once again by the pink cheeks and sunny smile of a kindergartener.

"That's my sixteen face! Or fifteen or fourteen. See you later!" and off she goes.

I'm in trouble.

Oh, do I agree with her.  She better start watching out for who Moll hangs out with at school.  I know she isn't seeing it at home.  They rarely watch TV.

I see that sixteen face everyday in my sixteen year old son.  Beware!!!

Teenagers will make you crazy.  I think something goes wrong with their hearing at that age.  If you speak to them in your normal voice they think your yelling.  Maybe it's the loud music they are playing on their mp3 players....
