Insights behind the perils of being a teacher

Blisters on my feet

It is spring in Arizona and so of course we are wearing sandals.  Ouch!  I have blisters every where that there could possibly be.  I wear a different pair of shoes every day so, I have a different set of blisters every day.  These are the same shoes I broke in last spring and I thought I would be safe this year.  NOPE!!!

Kids are like blisters you know.  Just when you think your kids are broke in, along come some new kids to cause a tender place to rub a blister.  Two of my favorite kids moved this week.  They both lost their houses in the mortgage thing.  It is huge here in this bedroom community.  Many many people bought homes at those subpar rates and are paying for it now.  It is very sad when my students have to leave because of this.  So far there are no apartments out here so they have to go back into Chandler or Phoenix to rent a place.  I hate losing my kids after I spent so much time breaking them in.  And, of course, now I am going to get new blisters and have to break them in all over again.

My, my but I hate to break in new shoes.  I wish I could just wear the same shoes everyday until they fall apart.

I haven't started wearing my sandals yet because I don't want to paint my nails.  That may sound silly, but it is a big project for me.:)  I am sorry that some of your kids are having to move because of the mortgage problem.  Moving is so difficult for kids.  There is a real estate lady in our area that actually loads a bus with prospective buyers to show them the foreclosures.
