There is nothing more exciting than a new school year.
I am so excited about school starting in two weeks. I have been in my classroom all morning moving things and getting readly to unpack all my junk. The cabinets they promised turned out to be only half the size we expected. Even the boss was shocked. She was under the impression they were to go all the way to the corner too. However, they fit my posters and I will happily fill them with all my stuff. It also gave me room for my book shelf or file cabinets.
We are getting planners for the kids this year. We used to have them but they were so expensive that our student council decided not to buy them anymore. I am happy to see they are back and we are going to use them again.
They changed my class make-up. I will only have fourth and fifth graders. The third will go down to the lower level teacher. This is because she only had 9 kids and I was up to 31. Now we are about the same. I got a copy of the students "state-adopted" Language book. It looks interesting. I am soooo excited.
Our two new elementary schools and the new middle school are housed in our building for the time being. They can't get into their new buildings yet. They are hoping to get in on Monday. They are holding all their meetings and inservices in our classrooms. I am kind of glad they aren't in my room because I wouldn't be able to work if they were. I moved so many boxes and bins today that I ache all over. It feels soooo good to be working again.
