Insights behind the perils of being a teacher

Who's the boss?

I know I have discussed this before.  The school secretary thinks she runs the school and she makes decisions that are not her job.  Even with our old principal, she did this.  She actually got called on the carpet for it too.

Well, when school pictures were taken, I, um, well, posed for mine.  You see, I hate pictures of me.  I am not photogenic.  AT ALL!!  In real life I am a drop dead beauty, but you would never know it in pictures.  Well, maybe that should be, people drop dead when they see me.  Oh, well,  on with the story...

It wasn't a nasty pose or anything.  It was just the normal hand behind my head and other hand on my (ample) hip.  I also had a huge smile on my face.  I love life you see.  I really do.  Anyway, the secretary saw my pictures and told me, not asked me, told me to get re-takes done.  How unfair can you get.  It was a really happy picture of me.

So, I did what I haven't done for years...I got up early, curled my hair, wore it down long, put make-up (yuk) on and dressed really nice.  I came in for my school picture.  Everyone asked what was going on and I told them.  When the principal asked another teacher why I was so dressed up, she told him that the office told me I had to have my picture re-done because I posed in the first one.

His reply?  She can darn well pose in any picture she wants too.  She has earned the right.  Really?  I mean I am very happy he supported me but, I wonder what else I can get away with.  Anyway, next year I am wearing a hat for my picture.  Wait until she sees that.

Well, the boss (I mean the principal) called the secretary into his office and told her that she wasn't in charge of teachers, he was.  I wonder how this will end...
