A former student came up to me at the end of the year awards ceremony. She told me who she was and that I was the reason she was who she was. A success. Her brother had died the year I had her and she had a really hard year. She said I helped her get through that year with structure and laughter and lots of help. She never forgot me. I started crying. That is the reason I teach. To make a difference.
